Urban96 — 96 Civilian Characters & Everyday Animations for Unity

Bring variety to the customers, pedestrians and residents in your everyday worlds.

Urban96 includes 96 distinct civilian characters: 48 male and 48 female, with varied facial features, hairstyles, natural hair colors, skin tones and body shapes. Each character comes in one fixed fitted outfit.

Six everyday animations per character: Idle, Walk, Take/Reach, SitDown, SeatedIdle and StandUp. Unity Humanoid avatars, controllers, URP materials and textures are configured for the included prefabs. An interactive gallery scene offers character paging, animation selection and automatic playback.

What’s included

96 FBX models, 96 Humanoid prefabs and controllers, 576 embedded animation clips, shared PNG textures, URP materials, gallery scene, usage notes and identity mapping.

Compatibility & specifications

Verified in Unity 6000.6.5f1 / URP 17.6.0, including native import into a fresh project and Play Mode checks. This download is a Unity .unitypackage. Unreal Engine compatibility has not been verified.

Source skeleton: 53 bones with finger mappings. Triangles per character: 24,430–175,294 (mean 41,930). One mesh level, no additional LODs. UV mapped. 211 shared PNG textures, from 512×512 to 3600×3600; 625 URP Lit materials using color/transparency textures. Choose crowd size to suit your project budget. Sitting is prepared for ordinary chair height; adjust placement and clothing contact for your furniture.

Sources & workflow

MakeHuman/MPFB and community CC0 character components; Quaternius CC0 animations. Complete author/source records are supplied in Third-Party Notices and Licenses. An AI coding assistant helped prepare Blender/Unity automation scripts for variations, fitting, animation transfer, export and validation. Character previews show actual Unity assets, rather than text-to-3D generated meshes. Joystead branding illustration was generated with AI.
